Speak to me.

For someone whose working life revolves around the written word, so much of my life recently has been taken up by spoken ones. During the last few years, like so many others, I have discovered the joy of listening to podcasts and audiobooks. If I don’t need the space in my mind to think about the plot of a book, while out walking, I slip in my headphones and listen to something.

Once my book, After – Sometimes The End is Just The Beginning, was published and available to buy I knew I wanted to have it available as an audio book. It is my intention to publish all of my back catalogue as audio books.

Through ACX, the production wing of Amazon’s Audible, I found a wonderful narrator who did the most incredible job of bringing the story and characters to life.

We were floored when the onset of Covid 19 delayed the release of the audio version, but finally it is now out and a whole new audience can discover the story.

A podcast genre I have become obsessed with is True Crime, which as well as having fascinating episodes to listen to has a very active social media following. Over the years there have been occasional crimes that really touch a nerve and sit at the back of my mind, springing into life late at night when the house creaks. True stories that demanded to be told. I approached one of the podcast hosts and offered to write a couple of the tales, something that was gladly accepted.

The first of the episodes I had researched and written was released recently. I was delighted to read the positive reviews the episode received. I was even more thrilled to read a comment from someone who when connecting me with the episode, had read my book and wrote to say how much they had enjoyed it. It is wonderful to interact with my readers, but often surprising where those connections are made.
